When Petra and Drahos approached us to be their destination wedding photographers we loved the idea. Not because we were born in the country where the wedding was supposed to take a place but we were honored to hear that this couple liked our work more than others photographers who actually live and work in Bratislava – Slovakia. And this time we flu to Europe not for a holiday but to work and shoot a wedding!
When it comes to Europe weddings the architecture in any city offers photographers the versatility of modern urban style vs antique old buildings and Bratislava is not different. Old cathedrals, castles and narrow streets just wait for the bride to enter. Formal session took place in Bratislava old town during a very hot summer day 🙂
After a small private ceremony we drove away from the Capital city to the country side, where in well hidden small private castle couple arranged a unique wedding set up for the reception. Starting with the wedding games, followed by delicious multiple course dinner.
After the cake cutting the party could start. But the surprise for everyone was without a doubt midnight folk dance of the bride and groom in traditional folk dresses with famous Slovakian folk dance group – who accepted the bride’s invitation and came directly from a evening exhibition half way across Slovakia to give a tribute to theirs friend – Petra.
This is the reason I LOVE PHOTOJOURNALISM. The story happens to be there at every wedding and these guys really hit it right on. We certainly had an experience of a life time with Petra and Drahos and we wish you all the best in your life 🙂
Shooting in color does not mean the old fashion B&W should be forgotten. Compare the first and this last image. Do not they look stunning at them? Povazan Photography loves to give you the perspective of both tastes, so that is why this wedding blog posts are mainly with B&W images and our website mostly includes color ones :).
